There are few better places than Iceland for hunting for the Northern Lights. The Aurora Borealis, one of nature’s most spectacular exhibitions of beauty, is a natural phenomenon with the season for most likely sightings from late August to end of March. NASA scientists have predicted the best possible conditions for seeing the Northern Lights in the current decade. Have you seen them yet ?
Now is your chance to book a trip to Iceland, an ideal place to search for the beautiful Northern Lights. This special holiday includes return flights on Icelandair, hotel accommodation for 3 nights, Northern Lights Hunt evening coach trip with Reykjavik Excursions.
The Northern Lights Hunt evening trip takes you to the best viewing location on that evening. The Auroras might appear just outside of Reykjavik or perhaps from the middle of a lava field an hour's drive into the countryside. Every tour is unique, which is part of the adventure and your guide will use the most up-to-date weather and solar activity reports to plan your route. Coaches are also equipped with free Wi-Fi.
It's not just the Northern Lights that make Iceland the best winter holiday destination. During your visit, spend time snowmobiling on glaciers, visit the steaming geysers or relax in the geothermal Blue Lagoon. You can customise your trip with day tours from the popular Golden Circle tour to snorkelling a fissure between two tectonic plates. Plus you will have time to enjoy the cosy cafes, lively nightlife and the cool Nordic culture of Reykjavik. To get a taste for this package, view the video below.
TIP: Remember to bring warm clothes for the tour, as it can get very cold in the evenings.
Please Note: The Northern Lights are a weather dependent natural phenomena and therefore their appearance cannot be guaranteed. On the day of your tour, please check with the tour desk at your hotel to check if the tour is operating. If the weather conditions are not favourable and the tour is cancelled or there are no sightings during the tour, you will be given the option of joining the tour the following night for free (subject to availability).
