This magical Iceland trip includes flights on Icelandair, hotel accommodation (3-7 nights), Northern Lights Hunt evening coach trip and Golden Circle full day tour with Reykjavik Excursions. The Northern Lights Hunt evening trip takes you to the best viewing location on that evening. The Auroras might appear just outside of Reykjavik or perhaps from the middle of a lava field an hour's drive into the countryside. Every tour is unique, which is part of the adventure and your guide will use the most up-to-date weather and solar activity reports to plan your route.
The Golden Circle tour visits the world-famous Geysir geothermal area, a field where hot springs are in abundance, geysers explode and pools of mud bubble. It also takes you to see the Gullfoss waterfall, the queen of Iceland's waterfalls. Finally, but no less spectacular is a visit to the Thingvellir National Park. Thingvellir is the original site of the oldest existing parliament in the world. The Great Atlantic rift is clearly visible, a rift that is slowly pulling Iceland apart along tectonic plates.
The Northern Lights evening tour is booked for day after your arrival (day2) with the full day Golden Circle tour taking place on day 3, allowing you some free time in Iceland to explore Reykjavik and its surroundings. Furthermore, you will also have time to enjoy the cosy cafes, lively nightlife and the cool Nordic culture of Reykjavik.
Aurora Reykjavik Northern Lights Centre is the home of the Icelandic Northern Lights featuring a continuously running HD panoramic film of the amazing auroral displays in Iceland. Here you can read up on the auroras through stories and legends from around the world, learn something about the science behind this beautiful phenomenon and gaze at spectacular Northern Lights photography from top Icelandic photographers.
