We love everything about San Francisco, from the incomparable views and historic neighbourhoods to world-class shops and entertainment.
Inspiring San Francisco
San Francisco is no less cosmopolitan than New York City, with perhaps the main difference being the different climate, the extra heat and sunshine here, making everything more relaxed and easy going. San Francisco is nothing less than awe inspiring and some of the urban sights you will be treated to in this city are known throughout the world. You may not have been there before, but indirectly you have…in countless movies, magazines, and post cards. To name a few of the most well-known attractions: The Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, Chinatown, complete with its own schools, hospitals and ethnic restaurants of the highest order. Also, even those who have never been to San Francisco will be familiar with the steep hills and equally steep streets from Hollywood born action movies featuring police cars in hot pursuit of criminals, more flying than driving downhill. These hills are a feature of San Francisco, as the city is actually built on 43 hills of varying height.
A faraway place
A San Francisco holiday should be more than a weekend fling. This is such a faraway place that one should take in as much as possible. A trip to S.F. gives you the excuse to explore the rest of California and all it has to offer. The whole state is a collection of interesting sights, places, people...plus an unrivaled climate. Again we will give you a few names to think of: Death Valley,Hollywood, San Diego, Los Angeles, Channel Islands National Park,Palm Springs, Big Sur. California is also the perfect springboard to further the holiday in Hawaii. Icelandair added California travel to its agenda some time ago and our locals have taken to it. You will too.
